BRISBANE NORTH WEST DEANERY
God's love
The image of mountains is used to symbolise that God's love is strong and everlasting. The dark green background brings to mind the tree-covered mountains and forest areas in this Deanery.

Welcome to the website of the Brisbane North West Deanery.

What is a Deanery? A deanery is a cluster of parishes working together on common ministries, fostering mutual support, sharing resources and working together to implement the Jesus Communion Mission vision and priorites promulgated by the Archbishop following Synod. The 109 parishes in the Archdiocese of Brisbane are grouped into 13 regional deaneries, each headed by a Dean. Brisbane North West Dean is the Very Reverand Father Ron Mollison, who is based at Albany Creek Parish.

What is the North West Deanery Pastoral Planning Committee? The Pastoral Planning committee is a group of parishioners representing each of the 10 parishes in the Deanery. They assist the Dean in planning and undertaking activities that are best undertaken across parishes. The purpose of the group is to work collectively and cooperatively to fulfil the Archbishop’s intent as identified in the Synod priorities.

Strategies used to achieve this goal are summarised as:

  1. Improving communication between parishes within the deanery.
  2. Identifying priority projects for funding from deanery funds.
  3. Supporting opportunities for training Parish leaders and Ministers across the Deanery.
  4. Adopting a fair and equitable approach to the use of Deanery resources.
